Coffee: How It's Made
Share
One of the most exciting things about coffee is its ability to connect people to one another locally over a shared cup and across countries through a supply chain and culture that spans the globe.

We love this video. It really highlights key factors that go into our artisan coffees. There are a handful of things we've learned our customers aren't familiar with when in comes to roasting coffee and hope you're excited to learn about coffee as much as we are!

A few fun facts from this video:
- Raw coffee beans are called "Green". If you ever hear us referring to green beans, it's not your grandma's Thanksgiving recipe!
- Coffee has a growing season of 6-9 months and starts out as a cherry. Waaaa?
-
The longer we roast a coffee, the less caffeine it has, unless it’s Decaf. Those green beans go through processing that eliminate the caffeine before we roast.
-
The "Origins" or country, altitude, and conditions of the coffee bean have a comparable impact on flavor of your coffee as the roast process does.
- We grind coffee at different levels for different uses. For example, Espresso is often more finely ground.
